other than Yahoo, directories give you little or no traffic - the benefit of being listed in directories is the backlink to your site

Any suggestions on how often to resubmit? It has been over 2 months and we are still not listed, is it a good idea to resubmit or maybe try a different category.

DMOZ tends to take quite a while, and from what I've seen on their forums tend to get a bit huffy if you submit often, and for them, another submission after two months would be considered often. DMOZ is notorious for taking months or even years to approve a submission, though there have been exceptions. I suggest that you wait another three or four months before you resubmit. Hopefully, you'll fare better than I have. I've been trying for over three and a half years to get listed. As I said, hopefully, you'll get listed because from what I hear, DMOZ is THE place to be listed.

You have good information here for people but you didn't do your homework.  DMOZ don't care how many times you submit you site.  The fact is they don't even look at site submissions anymore.

That is really bad. Why they worry about us? We spend time trying register to DMOZ and they even don't look at our submissions. I'm angry

Hello ,
My issue is that I had submitted my site in way back 2005 but it is still not listed in DOMZ Directory. Again in February 2006, I submitted the site, but still no success. can anyone tell me why this is happening. I have followed all the rules of DMOZ while submitting my site. I don't know what is happedning. can anyone help me out with this. My  two more sites are also not getting displayed in DMOZ. the sites are
http://www.puneproperties.com
http://www.mumbaiproperties.info
Is there any issue in DOMZ itself. As they have stated that it might take few days or months to get listed. It was way back in 2005 but still my site is not getting listed in DMOZ. Wha should I do know.

Read the article I listed above. It may give you some insight why it takes so long.

if the above statement is true, then, all the explaining in the world won't help. Following all of the suggestions for getting into Dmoz will not help if Dmoz is no longer accepting submissions! In other words--don't even bother--Dmoz is a dead deal.

I see you didn't read the article. If you do not list your site in the right category, you may not get in. Also these editors are voluntary. They can edit as few as 1 site every 3 months (not sure check the article, I forget) so, they may not have even gotten to it yet. DMOZ is not that important, don't worry about it. Read the article.

I did read your article. I am not so stupid that I would waste my time submitting my site to the wrong category! I suspect that either I must be an editor, or know, and be on friendly terms with one.
