I am just curious as to how people here connect to the internet. I myself use Cable Access Broadband through COX Communications. What about you?

Cable here. I've switched back and forth a few times between the local cable and DSL services.
This one isn't too bad at the moment. They've made a few improvements since a few years back,
when there was a noticable slow-down on Friday night when people got off work and went online.

the thing is that we connect wireless, and only about 3 wireless routers...so sometimes that connection goes out...

Connection = 2 marines running in a wheel. ontop of that, their short, less friction.

Monitor = a 1892 projection style window. with a bullet hole in the center.

Mouse = a camel spider with wires shoved in his head.

Keyboard = 5 calculators makeshift to present hex code, takes forever to type the word 'the'

I know how that goes. I was out there working on the Communications. It is pretty crappy.

ADSL here, Download Speed: 2481 kbps (310.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 419 kbps (52.4 KB/sec transfer rate) It cost me $19.95 a month, cause I've combined services with the same company. (my cell phone, dish network and internet) My satellite TV service runs $104.00 a month, cause I have to pay for three freaking boxes. Bedroom, living room and kitchen

You don't know the speed? Or the type of connection?

(And zima communicates by means of radiated waves of concentrated condescension.)

I've got adsl, and according to the website of my provider I have (if I would buy it today) 20 Mbit/s downloading and 1024 Kbit/s uploading. That's probably what I've got. I was wondering if I could measure the actual speed instead of what my provider tells me.
