Hey folks. Short n sweet: My wife and I have been married for just over 6 years... it's been like ou honey moon the entire time. Hardly ever argue about anything, when we do it doesn't last long at all. We're two relatively intelligent people with similar aspirations and dreams. However, lately it seems all we do if fight. Either she is finding some way to anger me or vice versa. Nothing has changed as to explain any of this. I've actually been home for quite sometime now, so it isn't because she never sees me. I'm starting to wonder if she's grown so accustomed to my absence that it may have turned in to a task just to see me everyday. We've had talks about having children(only one!!) and it has all been the same since, except for the last month. Just wondering if anyone can offer an educated guess as to why we are in such a funk... Thanks. _________________

I've seen it alot around here....My guess is that she's pissed that you've been gone for 5 1/2 of your 6 years of your marriage.... A lot of people i've seen have gotten divorces because of problems stemming from deployments. I would reccommend you don't have a kid until your sure everythings fine. One of my friends had a kid right before Iraq and his wife started cheating on him during his 2nd deployment so just be careful and good luck. _________________ Sometimes I get the urge to run around naked....then I drink some windex and it keeps me from streaking. |

Yes, absence does make the heart grow fonder. And it can be difficult to adjust to such a great change in circumstances (never/always there).
Just remember that you're not in a debating society. Winning an argument is not the most important thing.
Difficult to do; but the best time to wonder why an argument takes place is at the beginning of one.
Talk to her. Talk about that. Calmly, and with affection. _________________

By the way The Amry is not the best job if your married. Fact. _________________ [this quote was censored by the United States Government] |

Well, I'm not married, but I see how women can get pissed off (I'm talking `bout my mother).. They don't like PCs!!! Lately I've read a document on how to make women a linux user.. the answer was that there isn't a method. Women simply do not find technology such interesting, not `cause they are silly or something: they are born this way, so that cannot be changed (in most of cases)..
I just say turn off your PC(s), wait one or two days without using your PC(s) more than 1 1/2 hour daily, and than book a place in an elegant restaurant with candles and everything..
And after the dinner, hellyeah, if you still want (I bet you want, haha), f**k your wife how you didn't do ever, wait 9 months, and then kiss your TWINS.
I bet your wife will make you twins if you follow me.. :>
Uhm.. just joking, though it might work. The PC-turn-off part is SURE. _________________ "Circles have no end!"

First solve the problem, than have a child, I don't care. But don't use that poor kid to get a smile on the face of your wife. _________________ "Circles have no end!"

HOw did we get so off topic??? WhoTF said anything about a PC??? For you "kids" out there thinking that "candles and everything" is the cure for deployments and marital strife (look it up), you are mistaken.
GroundPounder, she will come around. Just cater to her for a little while and feel it out. I hadn't realized that you had been gone for so long from your marriage. Take it slow, and wait to have kids until you guys get back on the same playing field. _________________

I'm not sure he was off topic Albatross...I think he was saying instead of asking us on the computer what we think to go and talk to her spend more time with her.... I think you jumped on him a bit too hard. _________________ Sometimes I get the urge to run around naked....then I drink some windex and it keeps me from streaking. |

Cruocitae said something about PCs. The way I read it, he was making a general point that women do not like technology as much as men, and they should spend more time together. It was just one of many suggestions. _________________ Football Rumours | Gloog |
