Thanks for any help with these questions.

 

1. When I click on Email and get the headings, and then click on the subject to open the email, I get the following message: The requested URL /help/intl/en-GB/signed_out.html was not found on this server. Does this mean I have to be permanently logged in to Gmail in order to read mail from the Desktop?

2. When I click on the Desktop Icon in the taskbar, and then on Preferences, nothing happens. When I click on Preferences from the Deskbar menu, nothing happens. When I click on Indexing Staus, nothing happens. When I click on About, nothing happens. The other options work OK. I imagine that these options should be presented in a browser window, so it would seem that Desktop is not opening the browser.
