ok.. so I got a batch of one invite last night. it was my 5th day with the account... quite a few others got some too, most, if not all, only got one invite though...
btw, sent it out already, hehehe... sorry!!

Got this at the end of one of Gmail's automated replies after I sent in a feature suggestion. I guess they've reached the maximum number of beta testers they were looking for. I think they've also been getting a reliable number of bug reports and feedback suggestions from us testers, so they don't seem to see the need for adding anymore testers.
I guess I'll just go buy the invites from the Shop if my dad and sister still want them. I swear they're not for me.  I haven't even filled up a megabyte after more than a week and a half. I've also already gotten the username I want, so I really don't see the point of getting another account..[/quote]

i have had a gmail account for over a week now and i still have not received ANY gmail invitations, not even that -one- invite yet!  you know...part of the hype about getting a gmail invite and then a gmail account is actually receiving your own invitations and then distributing them to your preferred recipients...  too bad i didn't even get one. i thought i would be mad, but it's not that bad, i am quite happy with my account and esp. with my username.
i suppose google has stopped issuing invitations altogether? i remember reading that back in april-june there was a huge abundance of invites, wow to the number of maybe 20 per day...but unfortunately i was completely oblivious of even the word 'gmail' up till recently, being enlightened by my excited frenzied friend...lol.
i heard that gmail is going public this fall, is that right or will it be sooner? |

Nope, most we ever got in a day was about 7. Yes, for the past couple weeks no new invites have been given out.
I would guess Gmail is going public in 2-3 months. But perhaps this lack of invitations is an indication of a sooner date? |

not sure, they still get problems so i'de think there waitng for an upgrade for the server or something, i have had my account for 2 weeks now and have not gotten one invite.

I didn't receive any invites this week. Previously it was about 6 invites every 2 weeks but it stopped altogether...
And the sad part is that I used them all up already.... =(

I've had the account for 2 weeks now, haven't gotten any invites either. I was kinda hoping I could give an invite to a friend and offer another to the site were I got my own invite.
Ah well, c'est la vie I guess..

Well, I've been reading (and I can't remember where, I'm sorry) that they're updating their servers, and so they're not giving more invitations. And that the moment the upgrade is done, more invitations will appear on the accounts.
But, of course, I can't confirm all this... |

A few days ago (2 I think) I got my first and only invite from my Gmail account, I was happy and excited but also upset because the people who got the service earlier were getting tons of invites (up to 5 a day, everyday!) while the newer people like me (I signed up maybe a few weeks ago) only get 1 like in a month or so. That's too bad, but I just gave that account to one of my sisters to enjoy because of her continuous space shortage with Hotmail and the disability to send good sized attachments.
