When I upload the newest, most updated version of a web page to my server, the webpage viewer has to hit the refresh button in order to see the updated version. Is there any way to make the most updated version appear, and yes, the updated version replaces the old version. I guess it may be user caching that's storing the old files, but I want the most recent ones to appear. Thanks in advance.

You could use a meta refresh to refresh the page each time the visitor uses it. Or you could use javascript to get the same effect.

Actually, meta refresh isn't what you're looking for - it refreshes the page after a certain amount of time, as I've just found out. Sad

that's fine. So what do you suggest, in order to have the page refresh when a person visits it?

You mean that the images are not updated?   or the text and the layout?

He means to say that whatever changes he made in the previous version of the site appear only after refreshing the site once. In other words, the earlier version of the site appears first, instead of the newer version.
I've seen the same kind of thing in Blogger before, but the problem usually disappeared after one or two hits.

Iamtheking9 gets the idea of what's happening, but even after a couple hits, the site doesn't show the most updated version all of the time. The weird thing is, sometimes it is updated, and sometimes it isn't.
