Hello,

Could anybody please help me understand why my Google News RSS items are constantly duplicated.

If I download a set of new news items, 5 minutes later the same identical items download again. And again, and again.

I understand that the problem is in a differing <guid> tag inside the xml feeds.

However, I would really love to know:

1) Why Google makes these feeds slightly different to each other
2) How I can set up a mail reader (in my case, Mozilla Thunderbird) to ignore the duplicates?

I would very much appreciate any help
