I've visited Brazil for months at a time over the past two years but this last trip
has definitely opened my eyes to the way this society really functions and it is hard not to make comparisons to between Myspace and ORKUT.
I am a member of both and let me tell you even though I have just become fluent in Portuguese ORKUT is the way to go. Not only is it a great way to meet people make contacts and do business, but it just has a more open, honest and free vibe to it. The brazilians are expressing and practicing their creativity and spirit of community in ways that most countries could learn a lot from.
Never mind its the only country I've been to where people have told me good morning or good evening everytime I step into an elevator. Never mind the fact that even the poorest neigbbourhoods have internet access for less than one USD per hour. This phenomenon is a reminder of the way America used to be.
Wide open and free to express myself... the way I feel when I am in Brazil via ORKUT.
I don't want to sound like a cliche or anything, but I was wondering if someone could send me an invite to Orkut. I've been trying for months now to find someone to invite me, but haven't had any luck. If someone could help me out I would appreciate it. I don't understand why it's so difficult to get one or why others won't help people like me out. Oh well, thank you in advance if someone decides to help me out.
