I just submmited my site map to google. Is this any good strategy? If it is should I do it everytime I make updates on my site?

You should always submit a sitemap to Google and you should always have a "regular" sitemap residing on your site. You should also consider a ROR.xml file sitemap as well.

| Even i submitted sitemap very frequently to google when i make any update on my website..it really works...new content get indexed with in 1 or 2 days. Its worth!

The first website doesn't load, and the second - generates one urlset per page, so you would have to do lots and lots of copy/pasting, but here's what I found:
http://www.sitemapbuilder.net
It automatically extracts all the links from your website and then converts the data into a sitemap.

When you submit a sitemap file to Google, you're notifying Google what URLs on your web site are ready to be crawled. Each time a change occurs, such as the addition of a new page, you need to resubmit your sitemap file for changes to be considered.
