Hello all,

I've decided while still in college that I will never have a job. I'm not saying that I don't want to...I'm saying that I can't. Having a salaried job seems like you're selling you life, and this revolts me. I am going to college because I received enough scholarship money to make it free, but I am not seeking a degree that is valuable. I am seeking one that is easy so I have more time to work on online businesses as well as traditional businesses.

Does anyone else feel like this? Do any of you support yourselves fully through websites or other businesses?

-dill

Exactly, I've already decided I won't have a normal job. The point of my post is to get input from others...how they support themselves and how they feel about working for others.

I have a normal job. I work 36 hours a week, I travel 1,5 hours to get to my work and 1,5 hours back home. I get a normal salary. And I hope to keep this job for a very long time. I enjoy it. Well actually, it's more than just enjoying it. I like my current job so much I'm thinking about doing a parttime (in the evening) study (law), so that I can actually have a thriving caring in this.

I wouldn't want to have it any other way (except living closer to work, sitting in a bus for more than two hours a day sort of get's boring after a while).

I don't think I'm selling my live. I get to spend 36 hours a week doing something I really enjoy and I get paid for it (and free coffee!!). If that is what you call 'selling your live' than I'm getting a mighty good deal out of it.

If you don't want to get a normal paid job, than don't. It's your live. If you can find a way to provide for yourself and if you enjoy that way, than be sure to do that!

So what is it that you are planning to do?

cysite, keep the discussion polite. You should know better by know. And you should also know we don't tolerate that behaviour.

How one wants to provide for him/herself is up to them. Judging them like that won't do anybody any good.

I just finally got out of a horrible accounting career a few months ago, so I'd say don't ever get a "real" job if you don't have to. If online marketing had been around when I was in school (geez, I feel so old), I would have gone for it then.

Might as well take your shot now while you have relatively few obligations. It gets a lot scarier when you have a mortgage to pay or a family to support.

FWIW, I've had more fun working so-called "crap" jobs like delivering pizzas & working in a convenience store than I ever did at the day job. Maybe get a part-time job like that if you need some extra cash without the life-sucking effect of a career.

I am still a student......
A pathetic Law student.....and more 2 years to graduate....
My destiny is...at least in our country is practice or become a judge....(and I am not prefering that)...
and if I go for higher degree.....thats I suppose....more time....
I do nothing.....simply a student.....so far managing a part-time job in our country is quite difficult....
But I am looking forward for my successful practising future....

im sitting in my chair at work right now, and not liking it! If I had a job I enjoyed, it wouldnt be so bad. I also drive 45 min one way in a gas hog. puttin a hurt to me! I am new to all this making money online stuff (just launched my first adsense site). i am pretty sure a buck a day from my adsense site isnt enough to quit my job though!
