Hi,
Heres the story:
I setup my website several months ago, I took great care in making sure it met web standards, xhtml 1.0 strict, submitted it to the usual suspects, dmoz, yahoo, google. Added a sitemap etc.
dmoz accepted me and so excellent I thought, thats surely going to get me a similar page rank on google as the page my site is listed on dmoz, PR4, but no!
Finally it now has all the data in sitemaps and I have a low pagerank (0). When I check how many links there are to my site on submitexpress dot com I have around 600. However google doesnt show any when I link:mysite.net in google, where it did for about a week or two then they disappeared.
If I search for the name of my site it doesnt come up, but if I search for it like this mycompanyname it comes up about 4th after some irrelevant results.
At the moment im struggeling to get any orders through my site, I get the odd couple from froogle, but the market im in is fierce.
Why cant I get anywhere on google? Do I need to add more content rather than just the products im selling, say general techinal information on what im selling, or guides on how to use them?
Help would be GREATLY appreciated.

It went public at the start of August, before then I had it password protected. I didn't submit it until it was completed though.

I dont think you have to worry about PR. In a month or two you will suddenly notice that its main page's PR has become 4 or 5. Just little patience. _________________ Real Estate on Google

| In my opinion, PR dosen't matter. Concentrate more on getting as much as hits to your site, coz hits matter the most to your site. Even though some sites dosen't have enough PR they have got a very good listing in Google. Don't bother about the PR just try to get as much as visitors to your site. In the same process your site will get a good PR. |

I was wondering the same thing about my site... but I only put it online a month ago, so that's probably why. I also stopped worrying about Page Rank when I googled my keywords and noticed that a few pages in the top 10 results had a PR of 0-3. Also... I would think that adding technical pages to your website, or ideas on how customers can use your products would help not only your page rank, but your customers too. _________________ Eniva Vibe: Solid Company.
