Weird problem.

One day, out of nowhere, I get the:

This seems to be taking longer than usual.

When I use the HTML version, I lose scrolling ability. And a lot of functionality of GMail.

I tried all the canned troubleshooting... clear the cache, enable cookies, try in both IE and Firefox... nothing. Then I thought it was just a problem at home... maybe I had my settings wrong on a router (a stretch). So I go to work and try at the office and it's the same thing.

Then I log onto our office's gmail account. And it works. No problems, just regular, good ol GMail Standard. So great... it's MY account that's screwed up somehow.

Any help would be appreciated. I think I gave enough info to show I tried different configs (browsers, computers, accounts). I tried Google's support, but of course got the canned response.

Yes, it seems you've done all of the regular troubleshooting.
The only thing I can think of is the possibility of an over-burdened Inbox, which could slow (and interfere with) loading.
If there were a lot of messages, or attachments.

You could try cleaning out the Inbox- labeling and archiving (even if it's just "Inbox-old" or similar), and see if that does anything.

Kind of lame, butI can't think of anything else to suggest, at the moment.

Well... easier suggested than done..

I also said I lost scrolling functionality for some reason, which means i cant even scroll down the page. PLUS, with the HTML version there's no "Select all" box and other options are gone.

Im hoping that someone here might have run into the same thing and fixed it somehow. =/

Hmm, yes, I see your point.
Hopefully, someone will have "the" answer.

In case that doesn't happen, though, do you have full functionality for filters in that view?
I was wondering if a new one could be created, and applied to previously received mail.

No... I can't access any of the special features, including filters. It's really bugging me now. I created a new account and it also works fine (along with the office account). Why would my account get flagged and screw up. Google support STILL hasnt gotten back to me. Anyone know a better avenue to get help?

I appreciate all the assistance. I'd rather not have to start it all over again with a new address.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem and it's been driving me nuts for the last week! I'm pretty sure it has to be something weird with my account because it does it whether I'm in IE or Firefox, on my desktop, or my laptop, and no matter what connection I use.  If someone has an idea on how to solve this, please let me know!!!!

Like I said, for the past week it was screwed up. Then, as soon as I posted today, 2 hours later it was somehow fixed. I dont know if someone from Google saw this thread and fixed it or what, but I didnt change anything.

Squeaky wheel i guess...

Wow.... w...t....f...

It just went back to screwed up. This is rediculous.



EDIT: Now it's doing it for 2/3 accounts I use. I've been watching Google's stock rise all day today... I guess it's not based off of spectacular customer service.

Yeah, I'm generally a fan of all of google's services.  This is the first time something of there's has really messed up for me, and now I'm realizing they really don't have a very good customer service platform.  I guess that's the benefit for them in providing a service free to users, they really don't have any accountability.

Let me know if you figure anything out.
