But the limits thing has a flaw...if you edit a post after you have gone over the limit then you still earn GC$ for the edit...and no, nobody posts to make GC$

Yes, some popular items sell out quite quickly (and people post the same thing that you did).
But it does get re-stocked from time to time. And, it is not always announced when that happens.
So, if there is an item you are interested in, check back at the shop every now and then, and save up your GC$, so you will be able to buy it when it is available, before they are all gone again!
And remember to check the Marketplace forum to see if there are any offers there that might interest you.
