Has anyone searched on google for the following facility.
using Computer .. to make a international call for free thro internet.. (to or fro paris!)
earlier I used this facility in "www.dialpad.com" (very costly now!!)..
is there a similar site for free??

| just get them to use msn messenger, thats free, then have an audio conversation, thats what i use, free long distance or short distance conversations |

I opened up msn for the webcam, and I use skype for talking.
The ringing of skype is much louder than MSN. The sound is better. |

skype is not good. i got calls from belgium and the quality was poor......
btw. i'm in the uk

| The skype is very good I make a call to Japan, the quality is much better than telephone. My location is mainland China. |

Well, I guess the quality depends on your location. Maybe it's depends on quality of your network.
wefancyu, do you use msn? Is it better? Or are you using something else now? |

I do use msn for webcam+voice with friends, but you can only chat with people online. The quality is highly dependent on the network of both ends. My "broadband" is 512k (  ), so I don't expect very good quality....
To call a traditional phone/mobile phone I use the justadial service(from the UK), which is phone-to-phone not pc-to-phone. But it's cheap if you are with certain network. I'm sure every country has similar sort of service.... need to find out..

I require .. to make from Kolkata to Paris .. it would be better if it is free and pc-phone.
I once had great search and listed many sites of such .. now all have become pay sites ..
I would like to know .. whether .. anyone has done any recent search ..

I haven't done a search, if I want to talk to people in other countries, I either use the phone or chat online. But if you do a search on google you will get results (I don't know if these are what you are looking for though). Maybe it's worth trying some of the free services out there. If you don't try, you will never know.

dear malapati,
forget searching! phones being in the private enterprise you can not expect such a service free!
as suggested earlier in this thread swtich over skype or other chat forums. but i do understand your problems and the person at otherend may not ob on the net and you wish to use Phone- it does not come free.
with skype and one more indian version similar to skype,( i will provide you the link later) the telcos are already losing sleep! |
