| Quote: | | So overall, Opera seems to be the fastest browser for windows. Firefox is not faster than Internet Explorer, except for scripting, but for standards support, security and features, it is a better choice. However, it is still not as fast as Opera, and Opera also offers a high level of standards support, security and features. |

The New IE ie with WINXP SP2 has some additional features like pop up blocking and active X control blocking But they are too late to add those feautures. Soon They will introduce TABBED browsing but that too will be late. Anyways Normal poeple who just use their computers for cheking mails, browsing and writing word documents wont give up on IE because they wont care about all the features that Firefox or opera gives. They just want simlicity and IE just give them that. _________________ Google community ROCKS |

more than that it comes with the operating system and users are too lazy to change to a new browser!
incidentally think of windows os without an office or outlook or a browser! These applications made windows popular and is there any hardware company which will promote linux in the same way? |

In most of the Linux distros we get all the software free. You name it and you have it.. Infact if you install everything it will take 5 GB of harddisk.. _________________ Google community ROCKS |

I agree but then how many PCs come installed with linux? As i indicated i am too lazy to install a browser when it have it in my OS! It is the combination of hardware vendor and the killer applications that made windows popular. Now we, the linux guys, have to move in, with some killer application to make windows cry! |

Absolutely correct.. In my earlier days vendors used to ask 40$ to install Linux. When Red hat 6.0 used to be there . And why should we install Linux when we get pirated versions of Windows all over the world easily. I can bet if Poeple have to buy windows they will surely start learning Linux _________________ Google community ROCKS |
