| Google is very agressive compare to Microsoft. I run a IPB forum and I have a friend also runs one. Between the two I see google on there a lot. |

I don't think Google will topple Microsoft, one of the main reasons is people are "used" to M$ stuff, even if there are much better and cheaper/free alternatives. (Firefox x IE for example)
Most pcs come with Windows OS so Microsoft has this big advantage of being able to bundle their software/services in it and many people are too lazy to change or simply dont care. Microsoft also offers a wide scope of products so it will be hard for a single company to topple it.
As computing evolves and the mass population gets more tech savvy, eventually there will be a company who will topple M$, but it won't happen in a near future. Till then, we'll have to keep using individual alternatives (google for search, gmail for webmail, firefox for browser, winamp as music player and so on) |

Agreed. Until one big company comes along that can unite all the seperate individual companies now, Microsoft will reign supreme. But the indivdual companies now usually offer better products/services. |

It's all about specializing. Companies that specialize in certain areas tend to be smaller, yet more efficient in that area. Microsoft just handles a wide variety of things and doesn't rely on one area to bring in the cash. If Google did decide to produce a huge variety of things, most likely the general quality of such new products would decrease. I like how they are now, focusing on new things one step at a time. That's just my opinion

i would deffinetly use an OS if google make it, i dont find microsoft bad, and how can we criticise them if most of us cant even make a program like notepad
but i think that is the next sstep for google, an operating system, and it would rock, windows always crashes on me, this is gonna be my last day on windows, then im going to LBA linix and LBA Office (freeware) |

| I really never have any problems with Microsoft, so I really see no reason to change to one made by Google. Except for it being made by Google, because all of their other products seem to be so handy. |

If Google does indeed make an OS, it will probably be Linux based, most OSs now, other than Microsoft seem to be Linux-derivatives. If Google could make a super user-friendly GUI, then that could really hurt Microsoft. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. _________________ vFusion

Have you considered the option of MSN search making Google to disappear? _________________ sudhani@gmail.com |

| In the area of Google, now a public company, versus Microsoft I think the race is very close. While Google is running away in the searching industry, Microsoft owns nearly every other part of the computing and operating systems industries. This, and the fact that they have nearly $30 Billion untouched and in their bank vaults make them very intimidating. But Google's overall lead on online searching technology could mean the crucial difference between the two companies. And seriously, Google is jut way better than M$, I mean have you seen all the loopholes/security hazards of Windows? |

There's a Chinese saying, "Big trees attracts wind." (loosely translated) It can be used on Microsoft. Since it's a big company, most hackers make it their target.
If Google makes an OS, We'll hear lots of complains about it too. |
