Well since you didn't read it, why did you make that ignorant comment? And sorry, I don't mean any harm or offence, I just like to make my opinions clear, so I apologize if it sounds harsh, I don't want to come off as aggressive. And I was referring to your comment as ignorant, not you. |
You know, I feel that it shows something truly sad about state of the forums on which you must "protect" yourself like that... |
Really? I thought it just showed poorly-written communication.
(I prefer to choose the words that will convey my meaning in the first place, rather than by following them with stream-of-conciousness qualification.)
But there is nothing wrong with the sentiment of not wishing to be offensive to people. Constantly behaving like a sardonic, judgemental twit does not give any greater weight to anyone's opinions.
The effect, in fact, is quite the opposite. Eventually, such people are just seen as self-parodying jokes. The sight of which, just causes people to roll their eyes. _________________

If I don't have reason to "roll eyes", I don't, period, and I'm sure everyone who cares to check can see it.
But what Eiríkr said...it was almost apologising for the "offense", which was simply stating most blatant and obvious thruth - how can anyone claim ANYTHING about any book if he hadn't read it? Heck, if he even doesn't know the most basic foundation of the "story"...
Furthermore, what Eiríkr said in first sentence didn't require clarifications IMHO - if somebody can't recognize the difference between criticizing an opinion and a person, that's his problem. |

Of course Harry Potter is the best!!!There's no doubt for me & second comes the books for Narnia by Lewis and third I might point Ursula Le Guin's "Sea Earth" _________________

| lol, guys, don't take it so seriously, I thought the guy was a bit shallow(no offense yet again) from previous posts, so I felt the need to clarify. But yeah you're right. |

I'll agree on that one any day!
Unless I make my own and then I could be in it if I wanted too!
Actually I reckon I should have played a role in Narnia, I would have been good! _________________ My Blog | Microsoft Discussion |
