I want threaded conversation.
It would be great to blur the line between communication forms more by creating conversation threads that can be picked up at a later time. They're already halfway there with combining gTalk logs with email in gmail. Now, instead of just being able to e-mail gTalk logs, you just have to be able to press "Resume" at the end of one and pick it back up again.

Chat rooms with like minded, or closely located people that GTalk can "discover" online. I am a very regular user of Yahoo "Chat", not to be confused with Yahoo "Messenger" though Chat can be reached through the Yahoo messenger client.
I would gladly and wilfully migrate my friends an co-chatters to such a service. This and this alone is the only service of Yahoo that has no equal in Google.
IRC chat is not an alternative, it doesn't serve to build a "community" like the Yahoo Chat room service does.
I hope some eager Googleer (google employee, my own term) picks up the ball on this and runs with it! I am not a programmer but would eagerly volunteer for anything I can contribute.

But I don't think Google would allow that. File sharing has the potential of being called illegal, if any type of file is allowed to be shared.

What I want for google talk, as well as just about every other google service, is for it to stop being a beta! Seriously, has anyone noticed that their are more beta things on google than non-beta?  |

How about Just Chat Rooms....thats all it really needs, I dont want to hear anybody if i wanted to talk I would have used the phone...I use chat beause I dont want to use voice...lol it only makes sense
