Ummm I probably just missed it but when is this supposed to happen? Is it just "soon" or is there a tentative date set for it.

I plan to try it because I use AIM Express at work and it sucks with a lag, missed messages and IMs forwarded to my phone even when I'm online. But I don't even know if this site's "hack" will work at all or whether it will also work in Gmail chat, which is what I want.

It works. You can't IM a Google Talk account with your AIM account or vice versa. But you can use Google Talk like GAIM or Trillian and be logged onto more than one network. My Gmail chat contacts list now in addition shows my AIM buddies.

This turned out to more more problematic and I had to undo all of it. I'll play around with it again later.
