I recently heard of orkut through its popularity in Brazil. I have a friend there who is visiting me in Australia in a few months and know that he would also like to be part of the Orkut community.
It would be great to connect with more vegans. 
I would like to be able to send him an invitation as he is a Google Gmail convert too.

Hi, everyone! My first post here at Google Community: I recently registered but I already love this community. Lots of people with the same fascination about Google. Nice people, too (who both use and know a lot about Google's products). About promoting this community? Of course I will: I think it's a great feeling, knowing you're supporting good things that you really like. Image-linking on various sites I own? I'd be happy to!
I'm eighteen, but work full-time. 11 month ago, I started my own business. I'm a web developer and works with a few other companies. I do many things: graphical design, development of internal and external web solutions, to some basic system administration. I've been lucky and I'm glad doing what I love for a living.
More? I'm from Sweden and I'm in a band. I listen to Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails: Addicted and idolizing them – something that will never change I also love The White Stripes – Jack and Meg is pure happiness to me.
Using Google Calendar, Docs and Spreadsheet, Reader, pages and webalbums, Gmail as well as Google Talk – every day and I wouldn't want to be without them (almost) no matter what. (Also Google Earth, Picasa and SketchUp – the latter is the most enjoyable app I've ever used!) Not forgetting Browser Sync and Notebook. And oh, search too 
––> I don't know anyone with an Orkut account, however – and I'd so badly want to start using it: If someone would be so kind to invite me, I'll be very thankful – to say the least.
