"Misspelling of well-known web sites" - means what it says.
For example, If you write an article about "Microsoft" and you used "miXrosoft" instead - your page will get more chance to be listed in top 10 for those who accidentally searched for "miXrosoft".
Some SEO's using such tactics to drive traffic to their web sites. Some get along with this just fine, others disappear from Google search.
Having lots of misspelled words of ANY kind is not quite tolerated. You should check your web site for spelling mistakes before publishing it's live!
You should remember - web pages are made for people and not for robots.
How would you feel If you had to read an article where each 5-th word was misspelled? I guess you would be pissed off, right? ....so and Google - they've developed very powerful and sophisticated algorithms that can understand potential misspelling tactics.
