I really like acer laptops and don't find anything wrong with them
If you are after a laptop which will save you battery power go for a mobile processor. e.g. Intel Pentium M
The disadvantage is, it's normally one or the other, speed or battery power
unless you are willing to pay the price.
Toshiba's are good laptops
