Hi,

As a gamer with a pretty old system I'm a bit concerned about GDs performance. I love the search system, it's probably even better than Vista's imho, but I have noticed some speed issues with GD running. First off there was a massive difference in speed when I transferred my huge 'My Music' folder to an external HD, disabling indexing sped this up hugely. Also I have noticed Firefox running a little slower since I installed GD, switching tabs and windows can be painfully slow now which really wasn't an issue before. Lastly I think my games are running a bit slower than they were, does GD keep indexing while apps like this are running?

My system is an AMD Athlon 3000+, 2GB RAM, Radeon X1950 Pro, Win XP which I thought would have been plenty. Are these issues common or have I just got too much crap installed? Do gadgets make a difference?
