Here's the problem. Users want to express their thanks for a post, but don't like posting a reply that just says "thanks". Plus, we need to keep threads clean and readable, without a bunch of "thanks" being posted.
Also, the creators of useful posts don't have much idea how many people like their posts, if only some of the people even reply.
Introducing the new
Thanks button!
This is a great new way for you to show your appreciation to those who have posted something interesting or useful.
When you click on it, it places your username in a box under the post to show that you've said "thanks." Everyone who clicks the button is placed in the box. This keeps things nice and organized
Users who receive thanks may receive reputation points.
