So the Gmail Blog recently posted
an article explaining how we can modify our username to include any number or configuration of dots (ex.
user.name@gmail.com =
username@gmail.com = u.s.e.r.n.a.me....@gmail.com) OR by adding any sort of characters we want after a plus sign (ex.
user.name@gmail.com = username+areyousendingmespam@gmail.com).
This is totally awesome.
Naturally I had to check it out, but I noticed one thing: if I send mail to a modified address whose mail is forwarded to a different e-mail address, I don't get it. This makes me sad. But yes, I just thought everyone should know that if you, say, don't differentiate between
first.surname@gmail.com and
firstsurname@gmail.com, you may not receive info about job opportunities in your
funname@gmail.com account.
