AVG is pretty good. The one from Computer Associates is called EZ-Antivirus. It is of a very low quality and it is rip-off of Zonealarm.
I use Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition. I know Norton sucks and is just holds a monopoly in the Antivirus market like microsoft. Though I haven't been infected by a virus in like 2 years. So I don't really need an antivirus, but I keep it incase a virus pops up
. And spyware/adware is/was a different story. I had 4-5 anti-spyware programs a 6-7 months ago when I used Internet Explorer. But now I don't need them due to the fact that I use firefox. I still keep about 3 of those anti-spyware programs though for the future incase any spyware or adware "pops up"
