Good question, fjpoblam. I recommend "DNS-pointing" to a GAfYD account because:
  • The entire website would be hosted by Google, from start-to-finish. This would include DNS lookups. Google invests heavily in their server infrastructure, so you would likely have better speed and reliability with Google than with your registrar's DNS servers.
  • "blind-url-forwarding" sounds like frame redirection (you might need to check with your registrar to see how they actually implement it). With frame redirection, the visitor's browser must support frames, bookmarking becomes a hassle (sometimes it becomes impossible to bookmark an internal page and still have the domain name in the URL), and you're dependent on the registrar's hosting (their server serves up the simple page with the frame forwarding).
  • You can use other Google Services in the future, if you decide so; Gmail comes to mind, as it's really nice to use Gmail at your own domain.
It seems to me that GAfYD is the way to go. In this case, I don't see any advantage to using forwarding of any kind.
