The software allows users to search through more than 200 file types, including Outlook and Outlook Express e-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, html, text, ZIP and mp3.

The article mentions that Google had some privacy issues with the desktop search and Yahoo has addressed those issues in their Yahoo Desktop Search Beta, making them more reliable than Googe. Well, they might even be more reliable than Google, who knows?

Do you think that Google has some serious competition here and need to be carefull? Or do you think that nothing can beat Google and the Yahoo Desktop Search is not a threat to Google? What's your opinion?
