thanks for your reply - tonight i have just spent about an hour looking on gmail 'help' - eventually i came across 'help' - 'known issues' - and surprise there is a section on our problem. I also found many other people on other sections of help who have pasted the same problem - we are not alone!!
through all this it seems there are two options - log in through
http://mail.google.com/mail - i had a go at this and it seemed to work. option 2 is to use Mozilla Firefox instead of IE7 - i had been using IE7 and when i swop'd over - again it was fine!
some people seem to say that its ok for a while like this but the problem returns - but maybe i have read too much and i am getting tired and that is incorrect - so i hope either of these options help you - and that we have our sanity back!! Angie
