I got the same e-mail and have been dealing with this person/people for the last month. They actually sent me a check today. But I found this post on Monday which confirmed my fears. I told them yesterday that I knew it was a scam and I wouldn't accept anything shipped to me. I got the check at my work today. I just lodged a complaint with the IC3 agnecy and I am keeping all the evidence incase they do somehting about it. The Check was for 3850.00 and I was only asking ~ 800 bucks for deposit and rent. My guess is they were going to have me cash a bogus check and give the shipping agent $$ and then when the bank realizes the check is fake, take it out of my account.

I would lodge a complaint with the either the FCC or the IC3 agency and keep any evidence. Maybe they will catch who ever it is, doubtfull but we can only hope.

E-mail them back and tell them you won't accept any shipment and don't cash the check!
