Focused Desktop Search
In my WinXP computer, I have about 2,000+ PDF files in 2 folders in a hard drive at the top of my chain - L: All of these PDF files emerged from scanning original century-old periodicals.
GDS, adjusted by TweakGDS, does initially produce search results from just these 2 folders, but over time, the registry adjustments do not stick. Gradually over a few days, other partitions further down the chain, get added in and dilute search results, forcing time consuming re-indexing.
Has anyone found a reliable way to focus indexing and searching to a specific folder of PDF files dedicated to research?
BTW, GDS fails to produce search results anywhere close to what Acrobat does for this type of PDF files. But Acrobat takes forever, while GDS is instantaneous.
Thoughts of others?
