No they didn't. I don't think they will tell anyone the reasons as its a computers decision and very rarely does the staff get involved.

I just cleaned out my eggs and put them in another directory and via my robots.txt instructed the robot to ignore the directory.

I wrote an e-mail explaining the reason for the ban and they seemed to reverse it. My site has numerous indexed pages now.
