Google Accelerator is evil?

I read an article online that states that the new Accelerator by Google actually takes all the pages you visit and copies them onto their harddisks so that when you pull that particular page back up, it is supposes to load faster.

Doesn't this offer major security issues? Doesn't this mean that Google can now see our credit card numbers, our private messages on sites like this? I'm not saying Google would do anything with that information, but I'm sure there are people out there who would.

If I am wrong about this please tell me. Please feel free to comment on this as well. I am not saying this to make anyone mad either, I still love Google. It's just that knowing that a company is coping every single page people visit on the internet is kinda scary.
