I guess this would be a good time to discuss this, as locking policy hasn't been talked about in a while. But, in the future, instead of starting a topic asking why it was locked, PM a moderator of the forum of an admin instead.

Now, moderators and admins are free to use their own judgement to decide whether or not to lock a topic. If they decide that the topic is going astray, or people are becoming too offensive then the topic may be locked. Other reasons for locking topics: Posted in wrong forum, its a question that can be answered by checking the FAQ, searching the forums, etc, or is considered common knowledge. A good practice to start is to always search the forums before posting a thread to make sure that the question you are posting about has not already been answered and the topic you are starting is not a repeat.

I think it would be best to discuss this issue with the moderator that locked the topic. And remeber: A moderator's decision is final. Do not question the decision of a moderator or admin and do not repost a topic that has been locked. If you need further assistance regarding a particular topic PM somebody.
