I think the numbers would vary by locality. Here, in Vancouver, we're very much affected by 'West Coast' trendiness.
There are quite a few people who would call themselves vegetarians, or rather, Vegans (because it's just that much 'cooler').
And that's not even mentioning the insufferable types that will tell you they eat only raw food, that are better avoided at all costs.
