Personally, the thought of using three of four IM's seems insane, I use Trillian Pro personally. It works with all major IM's, including Google Talk.
It also has loads of features that Google Talk, and even other IM's have failed to provide.
What I like too is the fact that these additional features are available as add-ons. They are not part of the basic program; meaning that a user is not saddled with excess baggage he/she does not want. |
Personally, I believe that people that are addicted to IMing are insane. But there they are, and many using different clients.
Some people enjoy using the different 'flavours' for the sake of variety. Some have their favourites, and will use another only begrudgingly, when forced to, in order to chat with someone specifically using another.
I myself, also use Trillian Pro. Very rarely, as I've yet to be convinced that email is too slow a form of communication.
If and when they incorporate the Jabber protocol into the free version, they'll have a lot more converts.
