I was thinking as GMail scans your emails for viruses etc, how much anti-viral technology does Google have? Now the scanning is subtle and unseen most of the time and it also seems to be unbranded so unless Google decided not to put on the brand for some unknown reason then maybe Google could have a "home-made" anti-virus program/system. Maybe Google could port this into integration with
Google Pack or with
Google Desktop to branch out into yet another market. I think with both Google Desktop and Pack that could be a recipe for sucess, when you search on GDesktopSearch it could flag up files that look dangerous, it could use its inbuilt indexing technology to check for virus in quicker times than most AV software (only for quick scans not for full disk scans). The appeal for downloading GDS would then be higher because you get anti-virus. Then while all that is happening the Google Pack service is keeping you up to date and a bot on Google Talk is warning you of possible threats.
Please tell me your thoughts.
