anyway, yea, i heard about the dark fiber network in september.
What i heard was that google is basically buying as much dark fiber as possible, and they're going to light it up, and make it wireless, and make it free.
Giving everyone basically free wireless internet, at amazing speeds.
This could all happen in the next year or two.
As for the google hardware thing, i dont think they will get into that busisness....yet, first they will release an os, based off of linux, and as a free download on their site.
They've already entered the rlems of chat & email, so cross those off the list.
The only thing new to me in that article is the shipping containers. Those are interesting, but, it would be hard to keep the servers inside them cool.
