The paragraph that I posted is basically stating that the google search
box cannot be the focal point of your site, the focal point must be the
additional content hosted on your site. Email google they will say the
same thing.
Also... if you are going for unique content you need to be sure that
there is a theme to that content and that the content provides a real
information resource for your visitors.
I would suggest rethinking the focus point of your site, as it appears
that is where your current perspective of your project seems to be
lacking.
Once you find a good theme for your website, focus on writing high
quality content that someone would actually want to read. Then, and
only then, should you think about adding that google search box.
And for the record, anyone stumbling onto your site is more likely to
just use the google toolbar, or
www.google.com , than your little
on-site search box.
