If you find that the 'automatic' settings aren't working well;
you may have to have a closer look at the spam you are getting,
find the basis on which they are disguising their spam, and find a common element
on which to base a better rule for your filter.
A spammer might disguise the subject line, or rotate between faked "from" addresses,
or other tricks to defeat the spam filters.
But you can usually find some element in the content of the message to filter on
for repeat spam mail.
