I disagree because I was a victim of duplicate content. Years ago as young webmaster I tried many techniques to improve my page rank and get my sitepages crawled. I have phpBB forum and installed a light version mod but forgot to disallow the main forums URLs. Two weeks later PR of the main page dropped from 4 to 2. Other pages were also affected. Many months after removing this mod PRanks recovered. Since than I always avoid duplicate content and Search Engines love my sites.
