PageRank is rated from 0-10 and it is how the Google see the importance of your site...while Alexa Rank is a way on seeing how your site rank in regards to traffic...a million wasn't that good as it has a little conversion...if your into sales you need more quality traffic for a higher conversion...PR nowadays wasn't that important though it is one factor that webmaster's consider when linking to another site beside your traffic and contents...

Its because Google treats with www and without www as different url. be consistent in putting your url's at other sites or you can use a 301 permanent redirect from one to the other so that you dont distribute the PR among the same page. I know toolbar PR is not very important but might just be the similar situation with the actual PR also.

They are both more reliable but, focus first on PR, it will help you for link building. Webmaster nowadays don't concentrate on Alexa.

Both rankings are important but I think more people nowadays depend on Google Page Rank than Alexa ranking.

Higher Page Rank = Higher Traffics + Higher Link Popularity

Alexa Rank = Traffic Rankings of all websites

Today I found a funny post on another forum.

The poster looks very happy to found out that his site has PR 3, with '0' Index Page on Google SE, and another '0' IP on Yahoo and MSN, and it's only have 1 page that he made 2 days ago (not yet indexed), he buy the domain a year ago and never do anything, and let it 'blank' for along time.

And this also happen to me. I buy one of my domain 8 months ago and never put anything on it, and now I have PR 2 and still no page inside.

Refer to Jcorkern (you're right), Alexa rank describe a real condition about our site, how good it's working for us, how many visitors we have for certain period and how many sites linking in to our site.

I know many blogs with low traffic have PR 7 (my blog group have 1041 blogs member, most of them are PR4 - PR7), and did you know one of the best forum on earth - started in 1997 (maybe you know it too) with more that 10000 visitors a day only have PR 4.

I don't have to give any conclusion, which one is the best, you know what I mean (it's obvious .. still don't get it ? sigh)
