Life Before Google

Just a random thought/question.... what search engine did you use before Google?brbrI personally used Yahoo for everything.br

For me I used MSN's search and Yahoo! before Google. When I was starting off with the internet, I was primarily using MSN Explorer (anybody remembered that?), so when I finally switched to another browser I dumped MSN and switched to Google.

I think I Google is the first search engine I first use... If you are saying you use Yahoo, I think you actually used Google.

Just before... I probably used Yahoo the most. As far as I can remember, they were the first to have the convenience of search from a toolbar.
I also used MetaCrawler quite a bit (compiled from a number of search engines).
It's funny how so many users today are either very new, or have short memories. It's not like Google invented this stuff.
They just do it better.

Well, I'm quite young. I didn't even start using a computer before Google came into play.
(My father bought a computer in 1999, a year after Google was founded. Hardly any Indians had computers before that.)

I used yahoo..
but when google did come into the frame, Yahoo itself implemented google.. n' that's how I knew abt g00gle.

i think i used yahoo. but that was yonks ago!! and not many times either - only when i could access the net from school.

I rememeber times when altavista was the best player amoungst the search engines.
but I can't remember how I discovered google. Maybe I was told by a math grad student, and we were impressed by the "total number of indexed pages"
