How to optimize a flash website ?
Nowadays, Clients demand for interactive websites, website which can catch once attention. They must be attractive enough to be done so. Designers use flash on a large scale to get the catchy look. These flash sites are found very useful in attracting viewers. But these sites are proved painful when it comes to Optimizing such sites for Search Engines. brHow can one optimzie a website which is totally in flash. Robots are unable to read javascript, images & flash movies, then how can one optimize a flash site. The links are not html links so the spiders cannot crawl the links. Even though spiders come on the site, what will the fetch from the site as there is not food them (no text contents). How will google index such site. Is google planning anythign for such sites. Is there any solution for this problem.brWill it be possible that, one can have a good attractive flash site and his site is ranking in top ten. brbrspan style="font-weight: bold;"Is this possible ???/span

For practical purposes, I doubt it. Flash is not an effective web format. HTML is the best language for the web. Flash is designed for animation and interaction, and while portable, is not as accessible as HTML. It is slower, larger, less flexible. You can't bookmark specific states in the Flash app, and you can't easily print them.
On the other hand, Google sometimes does index Flash sites. The technology is there -- it's just that Flash resources are usually not as useful as HTML ones. |

Seek to ear that
There are no problems to index a flash site just a few work more (but
often same with other technologies as ajax for exemple or even simply javascript)br br The fact is that google method find their limits in the technics they use because unable to view what apen on a flash site.br br You are right flash is the most powerfull technologie on the web for now and I'm sorry for those who don't see it.br br I made some years ago a webste for helicopters compagnie called Heliair Monaco everything in flash connected to a database and all content dynamic. The indexing in google was very very strong and we apeared in first place everywhere for the keywords asked by the client. Now the site style existe here a href="http://www.heliairmonaco.com]heliairmonaco.com /a and the rank is steel 5 with www and also 5 without www.br br And it has down since they would add a html first page probably because a juck guy thought it is better for indexing.br br br |

Flash was not designed to generate entire Web sites. It was designed as
an animation and design tool. search engines still lack the ability to extract content from within a Flash file (swf), br Still following are few tips that can be used while optimizing a flash website::br br ** build up quality inbound linksbr ** use links on your site, so that crawlers crawl their way through the contents of the sitebr ** Place your content within <noscript> tags br ** Place your content within <object> tags br ** Use keyword descriptive <title> tags br ** Use keyword descriptive <meta> tags br br |

I think Flash is highly over-rated when it comes to attracting viewers.
The marketing whiz-kids might like their bright shiny sites, but I detest websites that require Flash for basic site navigation. I'll often just leave. It's been used to make more things that annoy me, than things that entertain me, so I have it 'turned off' by default, and only look at something if there's a reason to. |

Instead of using flash to animate entire websites, why not build the website up using HTML and CSS, then add to the effect by using something unique?
And remember, a website should be accessible by all, including those with Flash turned off. For example, a product shop could possibly be enhanced by animated product shots, on top of non-flash site. This way, people with Flash will be able to see a product from every angle, and someone without flash can still use the site, and it should be possible for them to be able to see a static product shot. |

For flash websites,
Outer promotion means except seo is very necessary like promotion on media channels, banners, advertisements on TV or news channels, etc. SEO is not the perfect solutions for promotions of flash website. and much agree with Ash_007. |

Nevertheless there are web sites that have both flash and HTML and this works well for SEO. My web site for exampleconsists of a [b]small part/[b] of flash and has also the needed HTML code from behind. It works well with crawlers as far as i can say.Correct me if i am wrong but this is what i have seen from my experience.
