Personalize your Google homepage

Hey there, brbrCan anyone tell me why when I choose "Personalize your Google homepage" when accessing google via http://www.google.com/ig I get taken to the content directory instead of getting that handy sidebar thingy that used to be displayed?brbrIf I use http://www.google.nl/ig (the Dutch site) I get the sidebar.brbrWhy would I want the sidebar you may ask... Well one I think it's funkier than getting taken to a new page!...brBut more specifically because with the sidebar it's possible to add custom news items to your Google homepage. I can't see how that's possible via the directory!brbr/Joshbrbrbr

I don't know what sidebar are you talking about but for me the Dutch and the Int'l site is exactly matching.
THat is a **personalized** home page, so I bet you can add that sidebar there. You might have accidentally removed it.

I shouldn't say Sidebar... that gets people confused with the Google desktop sidbar. That's not what I'm talking about.brbrWhat I'm referring to is the panel that used to slide out when you clicked the "Add content" link on the Google personalized homepage.brbrNowadays the "Add content" link just takes you to the content directory page, which does not let you create custom news content.brbrTo repeat my question: where has this slide-out panel gone??brbr

brYou mean it's been taken out of production right ?brThat would be a shame.. specially since there appears to be other way to put a custom Google News search on your homepage.br

Hey chevydriver,brbr

brbrNo, RSS feeds I can see fine. I'm referring to span style="font-style: italic;"customized /spanGoogle News items. Let me explain:brbrOn the normal a href="http://news.google.com]Google News/a page it's possible to add span style="font-style: italic;"customized /spannews searches. It also used to be possible to add span style="font-style: italic;"customized /spanGoogle News searches to your a href="http://www.google.com/ig"Google hompage/a. This was possible cos previously when "Add content" was clicked, a panel used to slide out from the left-hand side of the screen which let you add content. It included a News section, and this section also let you add span style="font-style: italic;"custom /spanNews searches. Recently however, clicking "Add content" simply redirects you to the a href="http://www.google.com/ig/directory"Google content directory/a. The content directory does not appear to have any items that allow span style="font-style: italic;"custom /spanGoogle news searches to be added.brbr
