They all link to different parts of the NY Times site for example "World" will link to world news and "Technology" links to Technology news. I hope this helped rmccueSPAN class=nameB

@mondine, no, that's incorrect. I have a website which has those links too. Be sure to distinguish the most important parts of your website clearly, like nytimes.com does, I guess. Care about SEO, be Google friendly, have many backlinks, so Google thinks your site is important. Might also take a while, mind you. (and try searching for some "normal" websites on Google, you'll see those links quite often!: for example, if the website is megagames.com, then search for "megagames".)

Laurent, you may have had a site, like many, that had a high listing, and sub-listed links.
It is most certainly not the same deal you see here. These are the result of an advertising partnership. Again, NY Times is one of those partners. Clicking through those links also serves up ads from other Google AdWords Search Partners. You can have backlinks up the wazoo, and SEO until the cows come home, but unless you have a similar partnership deal; you won't have the kinds of links referred to here. |

I'll try to look around and find some other independant sources.
The material I based my reply on is from another forum that is requires membership to read, and doesn't allow reproduction of posts, elsewhere. |
