Does .com/.net/.info matter???

Does the extension of a domain-name (i.e either : .com,.net,.info etc.)
matter or considered or should be given importance while optimizing a
website?

I would choose the domain in order of .com, .net and then .info but in terms of achieving results it shouldn't really matter.

.co.uk would have a positiveeffect if you have a British site and are targeting UK searches.

Most SEO experts say that the domain extension does not really matter as long as you have site with good content!!

The domain extensions like .com,.net,.info,.org,.biz etc do not matter in the Search Engine Rankings. From the site branding and marketing point of view .com is preferred by majority of people.
