How long did it take you to get top 10 on google?

Just wondering how long it took you and how many links / articles etc. you had to get?brbrbr

Depends on your topic. If you look Google search engine forumthere is a sticky topic: SEO project... And you can find others in search engine optimization forum. My point: If you have site about a star MX4231, there isnt much of a competition but if you have site about travelling you better to forget the top rankings.br

It depends on what your site is about and the competition in your industry. In a competitve industry like web hosting, it would take a lot of efforts and patience to come up in the top 10 rankings on Google. Just follow the guidelines laid down by the SEs, don't indulge in black hat SEO, make your site search engine friendly, choose less generic keywords and target descriptive keyword phrases, update content regularly and get incoming links from relevant high PR sites.

Yeah it's like thse two have just said if it is a non competitive term then maybe two weeks, if it is competitive maybe two years of hard graft!

Hi

It took 6 months to get totop 10, 12 months to get to top 3.

Google.com lists 25m - 43m references to my keyword.

Friends, I have read so much about google ranking, page ranking and now I feel that I am not getting anywhere. There is so much people are saying, Content Rich Site, Backlinking, Directories, Forums, Blogs. Well I have tried most of these and still do not see anywhere in first 1000 results.

Any help will be much appreciated. My site has been live for last two months.

That would depend on your site optimization, number of backlinks, content and its relevancy.
