Inurl vs Site command help - Why significant differences?

I'm confused about the inurl: vs. site: commands.

How can I see 125,000 pages for site:www.example.com/FONT and 500 pages for inurl:www.example.com/FONT

Other
sites, I have seen the opposite trend, with many more results in the inurl operator vs the site operator. BRCan someone explain to me how this works. I have read something about google disabling the inurl command or something.

Does the inurl represent pages that are ranking and site pages indexed but not in ranking results?BRThese are large sites and i think google is currently doing deep crawls, reindexing many pages daily.

Any help would be appreciated. Just trying to understand better.

No Answers?

Yes, well I am noticing this on a bunch of larger sites. I think I am starting to see some sort of pattern, just not sure what it means.

Why would there be many more pages in the site: command vs. the inurl command?

ANYONE WANT TO HELP OUT HERE PLEASE?????
