Blacklisted - duplicate sites.... Yikes!!

hello,
I screwed-up big time....
I have a 11 year old site that ranked 1,2 or 3 in Google.
Then I recently duplicated the site but with a different URL, and the old site got blacklisted.
Dumb dumb dumb!!
The old site still has lots of external links and visitors.
I want to reinstate the old site in Google ASAP....
Obviously I have to create a new site so there no duplication.
Do I create a new site with the old URL?
or do I leave it alone, and instead create a new site with the new URL and hope Google will reinstate the old site when the duplicate is no longer?

Any advice is VERY welcome.... I am freaking-out....

Proabbly best too start with a new URL and get as many of the links that you had to your old URL on the new one as quickly as possible and then try not to make the mistake again!

brbrYah! David is right. You have to start from scratch so you won't have any duplicate content.br
